Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Army and Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed to enforce hard lockdown.

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam came with the information on Monday at a press conference at the secretariate.

Khandker Anwarul Islam said “Rab, police and army will be deployed to enforce hard lockdown starting from July 1. They have been given power to take steps against violators of Covid rules.”

“Some parts of the country are being divided as Orange, Red and Brown zones, In this situation, we should impose hard restriction across the country,” Anwarul Islam said.

The government is going to impose hard lockdown starting from 6am on Jule 1 to July 7.

There will be no movement pass issued by police.

The government will specify the modes of lockdown and further details in a gazette on Tuesday.
